18 Months!

Hello!
On Sunday, January 24th, I turned 18 months old! I can pretty much do anything and everything right now – run, throw a ball (especially for Willow), say many words, feed myself, throw a great tantrum, and more. I’m also working on learning to jump – that’s a hard one.
I began a new school earlier this month. I now go to Bethlehem for 2-year-old childcare. I’m the youngest one in the program, but I am having so much fun. I really like all of my new friends and LOVE to run around in the gym. I am also really good at painting, drawing, and coloring, as we have art every day.

Mom and dad took me to McDonald’s for my 18-month birthday. I thought it was because they knew that I love playing on the playground there, but it turns out that they want me to get a job there!  Dad helped my apply, but I haven’t received a call for an interview yet.

Well, time for some beans and applesauce.
Take care!
love,
Natalie

Where can I find those strength shoes?

The envelopes for our Christmas cards got slightly ruined again this year.  Good thing the documentary crew from the hit NBC show “The Office” was there to film what happened.

Just wanted to give a quick update on the Chome ordered list bug that I found. They have patched webkit and released it! And I can attest that the developer channel version I’m running (4.0.249.30) no longer breaks when viewing this test page. The system works!

Since college, Steve’s career path has always been questioned by others.  Well, he’s a Nolte/Janke – he should be a teacher, right?  Steve is absolutely wonderful with children, however, as you can see from the video, he has made the correct career choice.

Official Google Blog

via Picasa 3.5, now with name tags and more.

This is a very cool feature that I’m really excited is now available.  Will probably take a long to time to go through all our pictures, though!

BTW this post is a quickie via the new “Send to” feature of Google Reader that I learned how to make work with Wordpress.

I was reading a blog post that was only written for the purpose of explaining how to pronounce the author’s name. One of the comments had a great link to a website that gives excellent help on pronouncing names. The site is plainly called Pronounce Names.

I looked up my last name, Nolte, and sure enough it was phonetically spelled very well. It even has an audio widget so that one can listen to it.

The other name that gets butchered a lot is my wife’s: Rachelle. They got it right once again, but no audio recording yet. You can record and submit your own version right through the site if you’d like. I’ll see if I can convince her to do that tonight! :)

I don’t usually come across bugs in software that have not already been reported, so I thought it would be cool to share this really odd bug I found in Google Chrome a while ago. For some reason when creating a simple Ordered List in HTML and setting the type to Roman Numerals (both lower and upper will break I think), Chrome blows up once you hit the number 2,388!

Check out my test case here: http://stevenolte.com/chrome-ol-bug.html

chrome-crash

I’ve seen it crash in v2 and also the latest 3.0.195.10. I did of course report the bug.

Update: galderon pointed out how it’s only happening for roman numerals that are longer than 12 characters (great work Doug!) The lowest number that is greater than 12 characters just happens to be 2,388. Writing a quick Perl script reveals the following additional numbers that would also crash it (but we stop at 4,000 since browsers stop writing the roman numerals at that point):

2388: MMCCCLXXXVIII
2788: MMDCCLXXXVIII
2838: MMDCCCXXXVIII
2878: MMDCCCLXXVIII
2883: MMDCCCLXXXIII
2887: MMDCCCLXXXVII
2888: MMDCCCLXXXVIII
3288: MMMCCLXXXVIII
3338: MMMCCCXXXVIII
3378: MMMCCCLXXVIII
3383: MMMCCCLXXXIII
3387: MMMCCCLXXXVII
3388: MMMCCCLXXXVIII
3488: MMMCDLXXXVIII
3688: MMMDCLXXXVIII
3738: MMMDCCXXXVIII
3778: MMMDCCLXXVIII
3783: MMMDCCLXXXIII
3787: MMMDCCLXXXVII
3788: MMMDCCLXXXVIII
3828: MMMDCCCXXVIII
3833: MMMDCCCXXXIII
3837: MMMDCCCXXXVII
3838: MMMDCCCXXXVIII
3848: MMMDCCCXLVIII
3868: MMMDCCCLXVIII
3873: MMMDCCCLXXIII
3877: MMMDCCCLXXVII
3878: MMMDCCCLXXVIII
3882: MMMDCCCLXXXII
3883: MMMDCCCLXXXIII
3884: MMMDCCCLXXXIV
3886: MMMDCCCLXXXVI
3887: MMMDCCCLXXXVII
3888: MMMDCCCLXXXVIII
3889: MMMDCCCLXXXIX
3898: MMMDCCCXCVIII
3988: MMMCMLXXXVIII

Update 2: The issue report I filed has been assigned. w00t!

DSC06032.JPGI had surgery last Thursday and got to finally come home yesterday (Wednesday).  It was also my dad’s birthday so we had a lot to celebrate!  The surgery went well.  The anesthesiologists found out the hard way that I am allergic to rocuronium, but otherwise the rest was textbook.  My tummy took a few days longer to wake up from surgery.  This didn’t make me feel good at all.  I also had lots of tests on my bladder and spine that were tough for me to handle.  However, I had lots of family that would cuddle me to make me feel better.

Now I am back home, playing with my toys and sleeping in my own bed.  I am much happier.  However, mom and dad need to do a procedure on my bladder 3 times a day and I am not making it easy for them.  Maybe I’ll get use to it someday.

Thank you to everyone for your cards, gifts, thoughts, and prayers.  I am so happy that I have so many nice family and friends.  Check out some pictures of my in our August folder in the Pictures section.

Love, Natalie

I’m ONE!!

That’s right!  On July 24th, I turned ONE!  dsc05792 (This is how I signal 1).

Mom says I am tall – I am 30.5″ and weigh 22lbs.  I have four teeth, two on the bottom and two on the top.  My mouth is still feeling funny so I also think that I’m getting two more teeth on the top.  I’ve started walking!  I can take at least 5 steps in a row – I even showed everyone at my party on August 1st.  Yup, mom and dad threw me a birthday party.  I had lots of family and friends come to share in my day.  dsc05917 Everything had a cupcake theme, even the cake that mom made.  It was “mmmmm…”.  I also had a little party at daycare right on July 24th.

I like to talk a lots these days.  I can say “up, mom, dad, dog, ruff, and mine”.

Since I am a big girl, I no longer need to drink out of a bottle.  I’ve transitioned to a sippie cup very well.

Here is a link to some of my 1-year pictures.  Enjoy!
